Final year Computer Students V.Priyankaand G.Bhagyalakshmi presented their Project on real-time flood alert system. This system monitors and issues alert, in the case of excess water release from the Dams during flooding. In this Project an android app is deployed in all the Mobiles of the public. Hydrostatic Pressure sensors and flow sensors are used to monitor the water levels and the flow rate. A Zigbee device connected in the Dam communicates about level & flow of water to the regional server where another Zigbee is connected. Public can communicate with the regional server to fetch the level of water release. Zigbee hardware is connected to the mobile via OTG communication.
This event will happen with or without Network presence. User can also fetch safe zone live mapping with internet or stored images without internet. The Project was appreciated by the judges as innovative
Students take regular on line test through IIT spoken tutorial portal and seven students from 2nd& 3rd year Computer engineering took test on 8th March 2019 , cleared and got certified.
