Fault Identification Of Remote Over Head Line Using IoT
Ravikumar G and Yuvaneshwarenreceived a cash award Rs 2000 cash as second prize for their
excellent contribution in terms of an innovative application useful to the society.

Their project is Fault Identification Of Remote Over Head Line Using IoT . Over Head line faults are generally caused by mechanical failure, accidents, excessive internal and external stresses etc.Detection and location of such faults is important but it is difficult to do so using traditional methods. Application of the technology of IoTfor such purpose , accurately indicates and locates the exact spot where fault occurs. This ensures a shorter response time for technical crew to rectify these faults and thus help save transformers from damage and disasters. This project uses an IOT system which monitors continuously, detects faults automatically, analyses and classifies these faults and then, calculates the fault distance from the control room .Finally the fault information is transmitted to the control room. The Main Controller is programmed as per the requirement and the IoT block is connected with E.B Control. This block monitors the input and output supply parameters from substation every day hour by hour and records in the website. The E.B control is merged with area transformer for automatic Turn Off or Turn ON .If fault occur in OH line, IOT technology and Google Mapshows the exact location and alarm or emergengy siren is raisedas a caution to nearby people to avoid human loss.
