LEPROSY AWARENESS PROGRAM
An awareness program on Leprosy was arranged on 03/02/2017 on campus. Around 80 students of Basic Engineering Department participated. Mr. T. Dhinagaran-NSS Program Officer, welcome the dignitaries. Mr. Joseph- Medical Officer, Mr. Karthikeyan-Health Inspector, Mr. Newton- Health Officer, Mr. Mani-Health Surveyor from Corporation and Government Hospitals were also invited for the program. Mr. Joseph and team highlighted on Misconceptions on cause and spread of Leprosy, Leprosy is curable with medicines within 6-12 months, Free treatment is available at all Corporation and Government Hospitals and is not hereditary,will not be transmitted or spread by casual touch and also about identification of Leprosy. The Program gave a clear knowledge about the Leprosy and its treatments for the participants.
